Effect of trauma simulation program on medical students¡¯ performance
Kim Dong-Hoon

Abstract
Background: Since fast and structured management has an important impact on patients¡¯ outcome. We evaluated the effect of Advanced Trauma Life Support based trauma simulation education program on medical students¡¯ performance in simulated trauma patient management.

Methods: An observational study on medical students was done at Medical School of ------------ National University 75 students, divided into 35 teams, completed the program. All students in team took a performance-based assessment in three categories using checklist rating before the program and a week after completion of the program.

Results: In performancebased assessment, the students performed better in the checklist rating (p=0.001, 95% CI 18.915-25.142).

Conclusions: ATLS based trauma simulation education program offers enhancement of medical students¡¯ performance in simulated trauma patient management.
